Yesterday was a spectacular fall day in Vancouver.  One could witness not only fine fall colours, but also Pampas grass and Araucaria trees at Van Dusen botanical gardens.

A very neat restaurant with a long history by Deer Lake Park.  The Hart Restaurant has a neat secret garden, too.

 It was really nice to be able to see the Chef picking his own herbs from that secret garden...

Hard to say good bye...

It's hard to say good bye to all these summer images... so much colour, flowers and beautiful skies, and brides all over the city... I guess we have to get used to the pumpkins for now!

Farewell, Dean...

Thank you, Dean, for all the light you brought to so many people's lives through your cheerful and positive nature and such skillful craftsmanship.  You will be sorely missed.  Your light was extinguished far too soon...

The death of a hard working giant...

These were the last days of the Blue Bridge, a steel box girder bridge, that spanned the Capilano River at Marine Drive.  Built in 1929, and opened by the then Premier Simon Fraser Tolmie.  It was an important link and a visual greeting that you were entering into West Vancouver.

Back to school...

Everything is back to normal with students back to school, but we still have nice days to enjoy... Hopefully into the fall!

Summer time...

It's coming to an end... Everybody is back to school tomorrow and here we go again!

Lavander farm in Langley.  This picture was taken at the Full Bloom Farm, in Langley.  They have a little shop there where you can find all sorts of products, including culinary lavander for all sorts of treats.  Cookies, anybody?  Make sure you phone first, before you go!

The Chilean Naval School sailing ship left Vancouver yesterday after a 5 day stay at the North Vancouver waterfront.  They are heading to Hawaii now.  Farewell and Bon Voyage!
